In partnership with Sephardic Heritage in D.C. and the Jewish Study Center, we’ll be hosting a Mimouna celebration on the afternoon of May 1st. It’s a traditional North African custom when Passover has ended and it’s time to start eating chametz again.

In addition to the traditional foods, music and customs, we’ll look at the role of American Jewish soldiers in North Africa in World War II. This includes interacting with the local Jewish population in North Africa.
The festival represents a “coming together” of different cultures, so we hope everyone can join us as we welcome our neighbors of different faiths, cultures and backgrounds to share Mimouna.
