April 7, 2016(1 event) 6:00 pm: Drink to Give, Support Our Soldiers! – Join us at Mission as we drink to support the Jewish War Veterans’ Support Our Soldiers (SOS) program for our FIRST ever happy hour fundraiser, just in time to send some matzah overseas! Between 6-8pm, a $5 donation at the door includes drink specials and doing a mitzvah! After happy hour ends, the festivity will continue with $4 Tecates, $6 happy hour wines, $7 Mission margaritas, and a surprise specialty cocktail. With Passover coming up, we send matzah (and more) to Jewish troops who are based overseas to help make home feel a little less far away. Passover is one of the hardest Jewish holidays to practice overseas due to its dependence on Jewish ritual and custom. (Regular care packages are also sent any active duty person via the National SOS program.) We will also have a donation box available at The Mission where you can bring non-perishable items (matzah, macaroons, etc.) or other essentials such as batteries, socks, and toothpaste to contribute to the care packages. Drink and donate at the same time! |
