June 10, 2018Orde Wingate is called HaYedid in Israel; almost every city has a street named after him; and he is considered one of the Godfathers of the Israeli Defense Forces. He is also one of the few foreigners buried at Arlington, and The Jewish War Veterans holds a unique Jewish service with participation of Military Chaplains and Christian Zionists leaders. Prayers for the US, Britain and Israel are offered, and speakers address Wingate's historical importance. Music and the Kel Maleh Memorial prayer are included.
